Muriel Elizabeth Bowser (born August 2, 1972) is an American politician serving as the eighth Mayor of the District of Columbia since 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously represented Ward 4 as a member of the Council of the District of Columbia from 2007 to 2015. She is the second female Mayor of the District of Columbia after Sharon Pratt, and the first woman to be reelected to that position.
35th annual High Heel Race set for Oct. 25
washingtonblade.comThe Mayor’s Office for LGBTQ Affairs will host the 35th annual 17th Street High Heel Race on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. at 17th Street, N.W.
Registration for the event will open at 7 p.m. This event is a celebration of the diversity of D.C.’s LGBTQ community where thousands of costumed spectators cheer on costumed drag queens, drag kings and community members as they race down 17th Street.
