Healthy Housing Foundation’s new Northwest Highway location. AHF, best known for its HIV clinics, is creating new low income housing for people with chronic health conditions including HIV at two locations in Dallas.

Both are former motels — one on Northwest Highway at I-35 and the other an old Best Western near the High-5. According to its website, the housing is being created by the Healthy Housing Foundation has purchased and renovated 18 properties in California, Florida, Georgia and New York as well as the two in Dallas. “In Los Angeles, AIDS Healthcare Foundation launched the ‘Healthy Housing Foundation by AHF,’ which will provide decent housing units at an affordable cost to low-income people, including families with children and those previously unsheltered or homeless,” HHF writes on its website. “HHF will offer priority placement to individuals with chronic health conditions, including HIV/AIDS.

AHF will expand the scope of its Healthy Housing Foundation across the country as the need finds and its resources allow.” The Northwest Highway location, renamed The Village, offers one room units for $800 to $1,164.

On-site laundry, community/TV rooms and a security guard are amenities offered. Not mentioned are any kitchen facilities. The location near LBJ Freeway is now called The Dallasonian.
