Bridgerton who always leaves us wanting more, it’s out actor Gold Rosheuvel’s unforgettable Queen Charlotte — and with a prequel series centered on her coming from Netflix, fans are getting exactly what they crave.Netflix originally announced the new series back in May 2021, with Bridgerton showrunner Shonda Rhimes writing and executive producing.
The idea for the spin-off came about at the suggestion of Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos himself. “Ted picked up the phone and called me and said, ‘Why aren’t we doing a show about Queen Charlotte?
And will you write it?’” she recounted to Variety.It was an easy sell for Rhimes. “I’m very obsessed with Queen Charlotte, and I always call her the Beyoncé of the show,” Rhimes said. “I’m constantly saying out loud, ‘God, I love her wigs’ — somehow hoping that somebody will send me one of her wigs so that I can walk around wearing it.”With season two of Bridgerton out now on Netflix, Rosheuvel is looking forward to the future — well, technically the past.
Speaking with E!, she offered up some clues on what this new series will entail. “I can tell you that it’s an origin story,” Rosheuvel said. “So you will be seeing a younger Queen Charlotte, I will be in it.
