Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino revealed he still wants to make a sequel to the 2017 Oscar-winning film. The first film starred Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, and was highly commended during awards season.
Guadagnino talked to IndieWire at the Telluride Film Festival, which took place on 2 – 5 September. “A sequel is an American concept,” stated the director. “It’s more like the chronicles of Elio, the chronicles of this young boy becoming a man.
It is something I want to do.” The first film followed Elio (played by Chalamet) a teenager who spends his summer in the Italian countryside with his family.
He then falls in love with his father’s research assistant, Oliver, portrayed by Armie Hammer. Since the films release, Hammer received a string of allegations against him, including sexual assualt and cannibalism.
