Criminal charges have reportedly been filed after a Georgia high school student who was caught on camera attacking a classmate seen wearing an LGBTQ pride flag as a cape.
Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk announced Friday that a juvenile suspect at Lowndes High School had been charged with disorderly conduct, simple battery and disruption of a public facility, according to The Valdosta Daily Times.
The charges came less than 24 hours after the video was widely circulated on social media. In the short 11-second video, which appears to have been recorded in the high school’s cafeteria, a student wearing a black t-shirt can be seen rushing up to a table where a student in a rainbow wig sits draped in the rainbow pride flag.
