Groups defend SF DA Boudin as recall effort garners signatures

A number of local elected officials announced a campaign March 31 to oppose the recall of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

As the Bay Area Reporter previously reported, the recall effort's petition was approved for signature gathering March 4. Among the electeds affiliated with Stand with Chesa Boudin are Assemblyman Phil Ting (D-San Francisco), gay former state senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco), Board of Supervisors President Shamann Walton and Supervisors Aaron Peskin, Gordon Mar, Dean Preston, Matt Haney and Hillary Ronen.
