Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky announces engagement to Hailey Jo Jenson
Cue the wedding bells! Nikki Blonsky has announced her engagement to her partner Hailey Jo Jenson. Back in 2020, the Geography star surprised fans when she came out as gay on TikTok. “Hi, it’s Nikki Blonsky from the movie I’m Gay!” she captioned the video, alongside hashtags #pride, #imcomingout and #hairspray.
Blonsky also updated her Instagram bio to read, “Mama, I’m a Gay Girl Now!” Since that fateful day, the talented singer has remained an open book regarding her journey.
On June, the Geography star revealed that she was in a relationship with Jenson, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. “I just wanted to take a moment and properly introduce you to [Jenson], the person who makes my heart sing and the one who makes me the happiest gal on the planet,” Blonsky wrote. “I love everything about Hailey, but one of my absolute favourite parts about being Hailey’s girlfriend is I get to be around their stunningly creative mind every day!” Now it looks like the happy couple are taking another huge step in their relationship.
On 28 September, Blonsky announced they were officially engaged in another heartfelt social media post. “I’ve played plenty of characters in love in my life, and it has been a blessing, but the greatest blessing in life is real love, true love, and I am honoured to finally feel unconditional love and a love that is pure,” she wrote on Instagram. “A while back, I introduced to you all a stunning human @theyleyjo as my girlfriend, and now I have the honour, privilege and greatest joy of calling this incredible person my fiancé!” Since announcing the news, Blonsky’s industry peers and fans have taken to her comment section to celebrate her romantic news.
