Hollywood icon Joan Collins has revealed that she "couldn't stop crying" following the news of The Queen's death.Tributes are continuing to pour in from across the globe, following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at Balmoral on September 8, at the age of 96.Speaking to Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show last night (September 9), Dame Joan held back tears as she spoke about the moment that she heard the announcement of The Queen's death.READ NEXT: Piers Morgan says Queen is 'biggest star of them all' and was 'constant rock'"First of all I was sitting there watching the news yesterday with my daughter Katie and we hear suddenly a message from the Palace that the Queen is not well and I said, ‘That just doesn’t sound good."Her voice began to break as Joan continued: "We started watching it and the more times we saw the Queen when she was a little girl, when she was a teenager, when she was 21 and said that really wonderful speech, the more upset we got."When we finally heard the news at 6.30pm, you know I couldn't stop crying."Even though you expect it and obviously we have been thinking about it, you really think she’s iconic, she’s never going to go.

She’s going to be there for us."Joan has spoken openly about her love for the Royal family in the past, and added that The Queen was a "part of my whole life, I don’t remember being around when she’s not around."The actress also reflected on her memories of time spent with The Queen, who appointed Joan an Officer of The Order Of The British Empire (OBE) in 1997 for her services to drama, as well as making her a Dame Commander of The Order Of The British Empire (DBE) in 2015 for her services to charity."She was so sweet.
