Fantasy drama The Sandman dropped two bonus episodes following the release of the first season earlier this month. The two-part bonus episode, named A Dream of A Thousand Casts/ Calliope has a star-studded cast to support both parts of the supernatural storylines.

The first part of the episode, A Dream of A Thousand Casts, is an animated short. Sandra Oh, Joe Lycett, James McAvoy and Michael Sheen lend their voices for the first part of the episode.

Melissanthi Mahut stars as Calliope. The latter half of the episode features Arthur Darvill, Nina Wadia and Derek Jacobi. The Sandman was praised for its queer inclusive casting.

Author Neil Gaiman showed his support and defended the choices regarding the adaptation. The cast teased the extra episode on social media ahead of its release.
