The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in America has brought down the deferral period for gay and bisexual men donating blood due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The FDA made the move after pressure from organisations like GLAAD, among others. Polices against gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) donating blood in America date back to 1983 due to the AIDS crisis.
