Singer/songwriter David Archuleta will be headlining MetroBall 18, set for June 6 at S4 nightclub in Dallas, Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund officials announced today (Tuesday, Dec. 10).
The annual dance party, held each June, is GDMAF’s largest fundraising event each year, and MetroBall 18 will be celebrating GDMAF’s 30th anniversary of supporting those living with HIV/AIDS and promoting awareness around the ongoing HIV pandemic.

A GDMAF press release announcing Archuleta’s headlining appearance noted that the American Idol runner-up from season 7 is “known for his heartfelt voice and emotional performances… . Over the years he has captivated audiences with is powerful vocals and anthemic pop its, including his chart-topping single, “Crush.”
“His unique combination of passion, talent and authenticity has earned him a loyal fan base and a prominent place in the hearts of music lovers worldwide.”
Supporting artists and other details for MetroBall 18 will be announced soon, a GDMAF spokesperson said, and tickets will also be available online soon.
GDMAF was founded in 1995 by David Hearn in memory of his partner, Greg Dollgener, who had passed away due to complications from AIDS. The organization provides financial support to persons living with HIV/AIDS and helps fund programs that promote education, prevention and care.
