On Joe Biden’s first day in office, he signed an executive order prohibiting discrimination against trans students, thus ensuring them access to single-sex spaces and sports facilities, following a string of state bills which could have prevented young trans athletes from participating in school sports.
The order, titled Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation, reads: “Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports.
