Gabrielle Union and Eva Longoria revealed they are working on an LGBTQ+ wedding comedy. Union spoke about it at a recent screening: “Eva and I try to take over their wedding [planning] and make it the wedding of our dreams versus theirs.” The project is currently untitled, but Union and Longoria are producers for the film and likely to star in it, playing duelling mother-in-laws. “Eva and I try to take over their wedding [planning] and make it the wedding of our dreams versus theirs,” she explained.

The Bring It On actress has previously shared about her trans daughter’s first Pride. The pair attended together after they were setting up for drag queen bingo at a local restaurant when the restaurant manager’s invited them to join.

The Pride float was themed around Union’s breakout role, making it a perfect opportunity for them to get involved. “Watching Zaya on that float, watching her in her community, come alive, it was like she was being birthed on that float.” She is currently working on another LGBTQ+ film, apparently inspired by this Pride experience.

Got To Be follows three Rhode Island teenagers travelling to New York for their first Pride parade. Union has said it’s important to her to have diverse LGBTQ+ actors in the cast. “I believe that it is important to have real representation so we’re not play-acting at what it is to be queer,” she shared at the premiere of Strange World, a new Disney feature.
