Gemma Clare Collins (born 31 January 1981) is an English media personality and businesswoman. In 2011, she began appearing on the ITVBe reality series The Only Way Is Essex. Following a brief appearance on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (2014), Collins has appeared in various television programmes including Celebrity Big Brother (2016), Celebs Go Dating (2018), and Dancing on Ice (2019). In 2019, she began starring in her own reality series and hosting a podcast on BBC Sounds.
Gemma Collins was 'punched in face by school bullies' for being 'too popular'
Gemma Collins has spoken out about how she was bullied and trolled even before she was under the spotlight of fame. The 39-year-old former TOWIE star was bullied so heavily at her all-girls school, she ended up moving to another so that she could get away from the mistreatment by her peers.
The reality star said that she was punched in the face by one rival, because she was deemed to be 'too popular' by jealous pupils.
Speaking on the new episode of The Gemma Collins Podcast, she told listeners: "I never got bullied because of my weight, I actually wasn’t overweight at school. “I used to be bullied because I was quite popular and I was quite out there." Gemma said they had to take some extreme action to get her out of the situation.
