Halle Maria Berry (born Maria Halle Berry; August 14, 1966) is an American actress. Berry won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the romantic drama film Monster's Ball (2001), becoming the only woman of African American descent and the only woman of color to have won the award.
Halle Berry caused quite the outrage on social media when she expressed interest in portraying a transgender male character in a new film.
Furthermore, she is also in hot water for misgendering the said character! It all started with a new Instagram Live interview she did with hairstylist Christin Brown.
During their chat, the actress revealed that she might take on the role of a trans man, explaining that it is ‘a story where the woman’s a trans character, so she is a woman that transitioned into a man.
