James 'Arg' Argent has spoken out on his love life following his split from Gemma Collins and his recent 14 stone weight loss. The 34 year old, who split from Gemma back in 2020 following a series of "nasty messages" shared online, explained that he went on a date with a woman from his gym, but doesn't plan on going for a second one any time soon as they have mutual friends and it was a bit "too close to home".
Speaking to MailOnline, he insisted that he's single at the moment as he shared: "At the moment, I'm single and although there have been some stories recently that there's been a mystery girl...
I did have one date, on Valentine's Day and I did meet her at the gym." Arg then shared that while he's spoken to a few people and been on one date, he's turning his back on romance for the time being as he focuses on his sobriety and weight loss, after he shed 14 stone. "It could be detrimental to myself," he said. "I may have the odd date, kiss or a cuddle but in terms of a serious relationship, I think that might be a bit further down the line." Speaking on his recovery, he went on: "I think I've had to learn a very tough and hard lesson, sometimes when you're clean sober for a long period of time, you get this stinking thinking where you think you don't need to go to meetings anymore.
