Pride Month begins on June 1 – with London’s annual Pride parade happening in early July. June hosts Pride Month in many parts of the world, as it commemorates the date of the Stonewall riots in 1969.Pride 2022 will be extra special in the UK, as it marks 50 years since the country’s first ever Pride event, then called the UK Gay Pride Rally, was held in 1972.There’s even a rainbow-splashed coin being made by The Royal Mint to mark the occasion.And throughout the month, there will surely be plenty of events and exhibits across the country for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate love, equality, sexuality and identity.Here are a few London highlights to look forward to (or book in advance).This one-off event hosted by inclusive LGBTQ+ gaming group Gaymers Inc will take place at the Science Museum in South Kensington at the very start of Pride Month.It offers video game fans a chance to relax, play vintage consoles and enjoy a few nibbles.
