NICOLA Coughlan has posted a cheeky first picture of Derry Girls' final season - declaring 'the wee lesbian has returned'. The 34-year-old actress plays high school student Clare Devlin in the hit Channel 4 comedy, which has been off our screens since April 2019.

Series three - which will be the show's last - was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, but Nicola has now taken to social media to reveal filming is finally underway.

Sharing a selfie of one half of her face, with her blonde hair in low pigtails, she captioned the shot on Twitter: "Guess who’s back in the house? #ReturnOfTheWeeLesbian.’" Fans were thrilled, with one writing underneath: "Bloody love this show and I’m so glad your all back, the Irish sense of humour is the best.".

He has revived his play and has been touring it these last few months – we caught it this week at London’s Pleasance Theatre. The tour will continue over the coming weeks with performances in Bath, Birmingham, Nottingham, Dorchester, Plymouth, Keswick and Bristol.
