Former Vice President Mike Pence’s speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference on Friday was interrupted by loud booing and chants of “traitor.” An unknown number of attendees at the conservative Christian event, largely attended by steadfast Trump supporters, chanted “traitor” as Pence began his remarks.
Pence ignored the chants and attempted to speak over them. “I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order,” Pence said over the chants.
According to Tampa Bay Times political editor Steve Contorno, several of the hecklers who interrupted his speech were quickly escorted out of the conference.
