Queens Park Rangers have release a lengthy statement defending their decision not to take a knee in their opening two games of the Championship season.

The West London club opted against continuing the gesture in their opening game of the campaign. But they made headlines at the weekend when they did the same ahead of their televised clash with Coventry City at St Andrews - leading to criticism.

The club are one of the most pro-active in English football when it comes to dealing with social issues. They have widely been praised for their actions off the pitch, including naming their stadium The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in support of the charity set up in honour of their former academy player killed by knife crime.
