New show Equal releases star-studded trailer and shines light on LGBTI history

One of the most eagerly-anticipated shows coming to screens this fall is Equal from HBO Max. The four-part docuseries looks at some key moments in the progress of LGBTI rights in the US, from the turn of the 20th century to 1970.

Equal is produced by Scout Productions (Queer Eye), Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions, and Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory) and Todd Spiewak’s That’s Wonderful Productions.

A trailer for the show hit YouTube released yesterday. Bringing our history back to life The series will mix previously-unseen archival footage and dramatic re-enactments.

It will also feature a wealth of predominantly LGBTI talent. Among those featured are Cheyenne Jackson (pictured top), playing Dale Jennings, and Anthony Rapp as Harry Hay.
