Robin and Bernard share their first kiss on the cover for Tim Drake: Robin #6
Robin has finally shared a kiss with his boyfriend, Bernard, on the cover for the upcoming Tim Drake: Robin issue. Back in 2021, DC Comics surprised fans when Tim Drake, aka the third Robin, was introduced as bisexual in Batman: Urban Legends #6.
In the issue, which was written by Meghan Fitzmartin and illustrated by Belén Ortega, Drake wrestles with his sexuality while attempting to rescue his old friend Bernard Dowd – who was unexpectedly kidnapped by villains before their planned dinner.
After a tense fight and brief soul-searching monologue, the young hero concludes that he is, in fact, bisexual – which results in the two setting up of an official date. “Tim Drake… do you want to go on a date with me?” Bernard asks, to which Tim responds: “Yeah… yeah, I think I want that.” Over the last few months, DC has continued to explore the young hero’s sexuality and his relationship with Benard throughout his own series Tim Drake: Robin.
Now it looks like the two lovebirds are reaching a new relationship milestone with their first on-page kiss. For the series’ upcoming cover, which Ricardo Lopez Ortiz illustrated – the Boy Wonder is shown embracing Bernard as they passionately kiss one another amidst the Gotham City rooftops.
