A legislative committee will hold a hearing on an anti-LGBT bill on Wednesday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. If passed, HB 191 would exempt LGBT people from housing protections.

Activist Kelli Busey asks that anyone who is available to come to Austin for the hearing should come to help protect our rights.

She pointed out the hearing is being held on Trans Day of Visibility. The way the bill was originally written, it excluded transvestites from protection.

On Twitter, Busey wrote: She explains more on her website Planet Transgender. State Rep. Julie Johnson explained this push for anti-LGBT legislation and especially anti-transgender legislation after a pause in discriminatory bills last session.
