Three Months, a feature film produced by MTV Entertainment Studios starring out actor and pop star Troye Sivan (Boy Erased), will be available to stream exclusively on the service starting Wednesday, February 23.Three Months is described by the streaming service as “a coming-of-age comedy-drama that tells the story of Caleb [Sivan], a South Florida teen who loves his camera, his weed, and his grandmother.”Right before he graduates high school, however, Caleb finds out that he’s been exposed to HIV.
The film then follows Caleb in the three months he waits for test results to come back to see if he has HIV or not. Along the way, he finds love “in the most unlikely places.”(Photo Courtesy of MTV Entertainment Studios)The film appeared on GLAAD's “Black List” of the most promising unmade LGBTQ+ inclusive scripts that are also on the Hollywood “Black List.”Three Months is the latest acting endeavor from pop superstar Sivan, whose music has been streamed more than 10 billion times, according to a news release on the film.
In 2018, “Revelation,” which was Sivan's collaboration with Jónsi for the film Boy Erased – which Troye co-starred in – was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song – Motion Picture and shortlisted for an Oscar.
Three Months features two new original songs from the singer.Sivan leads a cast that also includes Viveik Kalra (Blinded by the Light), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather, 47 Meters Down), Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist, Interstellar), Judy Greer (Archer, Halloween) Javier Munoz (In the Heights, Hamilton), Academy Award winner Louis Gossett, Jr. (Watchmen, An Officer and a Gentleman), and Amy Landecker (Transparent, Dan in Real Life).The film is Jared Frieder's directorial.
