The Human Rights Campaign and co-counsel BakerHostetler today (Monday, June 29) filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Trump-Pence administration on behalf of two transgender women of color challenging the administration’s recently published regulation, Section 1557 of the Affordable Healthcare Act, stripping away anti-discrimination protections in the Affordable Care Act.
Both HRC and Lambda Legal pledged, within hours of the Trump administration’s June 12 announcement of the new regulation, to sue to overturn it.
