Jeremy Pope has taken on a new role as marine that hasn’t come out to his peers in his upcoming film, The Inspection. The actor plays Ellis French, a young gay man who joined the Marines after his mother (played by Gabrielle Union) disowned him due to his sexuality.
The story is based on the real-life experiences of Elegance Bratton, who had not come out yet when he served as a Marine. Bratton makes his narrative debut as writer-director debut of The Inspection.
The film will premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in September and close the 60th New York Film Festival in October.
Jeremy Pope is an Emmy and Tony-award nominated actor, who’s best known for previous roles in Pose, One Night In Miami and Hollywood.
