Rachel Maddow made an emotional return Thursday night to her MSNBC show, revealing her longtime partner’s bout with COVID-19 was so serious they thought it might kill her.
Hosting the show from home, the 47-year-old political pundit joked that she was physically fine but knew she appeared pale due to her inability to apply makeup on her own.
She then dropped the bombshell that her 62-year-old partner of 21 years, Susan Mikula, has been battling coronavirus and that, early on, the prognosis appeared dire. “At one point, we really thought it was a possibility it might kill her and that’s why I’ve been away,” Maddow said. “She is the center of my life,” she added.
