Andrew Mark Cuomo (born December 6, 1957) is an American politician, author, and lawyer serving since 2011 as the 56th governor of New York. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected to the same position his father, Mario Cuomo, held for three terms.
NEW YORK: New York's governor declared on Monday (Apr 13) that the "worst is over" for its COVID-19 outbreak providing the state moves sensibly, despite reporting its death toll had passed 10,000.
Andrew Cuomo said lower average hospitalisation rates and intubations suggested a "plateauing" of the epidemic and that he was working on a plan to gradually reopen the economy.
