It now heads to theaters on November 1st, followed by a Netflix debut on November 13th, and it will be a surefire Oscar contender, especially since France has chosen it as its official entry for the Best International Feature Film. The official description: “Emilia (Spanish-born Gascon) is a Mexican cartel leader who enlists a lawyer (Saldana) to help fake her untimely demise so she can live authentically as her true self.” Oh, by the way, it’s a musical.
