More than half of Americans who left their homes last month said they wore a mask or face covering when they went out to protect themselves from the coronavirus, an ABC/Ipsos poll found.
Fifty-five percent of Americans said they wore a face covering when leaving the house. Mask usage surged to 69% less than a month later, according to a new CBS News poll.
There are partisan and age gaps on reported mask-wearing: 55% of Democrats say they wear one “always” and 35% of Republicans say the same.
