UPDATE: Grant Wahl died of an aortic aneurysm
Grant Wahl suddenly passed away on Friday Grant Wahl (via Instagram) UPDATE: An autopsy has revealed that journalist Grant Wahl died in Qatar last week of an aortic aneurysm.
The results put an end to speculation that the journalist, who was in Qatar to cover the FIFA World Cup and had been recently reprimanded by authorities for wearing a T-shirt bearing an LGBTQ rights message, was assassinated by forces within Qatar’s anti-LGBTQ government.
His openly-gay brother, Eric Wahl had posted an emotional video on Instagram saying he believed there was foul play involved in Grant Wahl’s death.
Eric Wahl has, since autopsy results were announced, walked back his claim and has taken down his video.
