Peaky Blinders’ Sophie Rundle as Ann Walker, with the pair now living together at Anne’s family home in Shibden.Anne and Ann are continuing to navigate the trials and tribulations of a secret lesbian romance in 1834, whether that’s Ann’s mental health struggles, appearances from Anne’s former flames, or disapproving comments from their relatives.As the episodes continue there is, understandably, a great deal of interest in where the show is filmed, with some truly picturesque locations popping up on our screens in recent weeks.Luckily, we have all the answers for you, which might come in handy should you find yourself near York and wanting to see the filming locations with your own eyes.Series 2 of Gentleman Jack is set in Halifax with the episodes filmed widely across Yorkshire, including at the iconic historic home where Anne Lister (known now as the first modern lesbian) actually lived.The Hall is shut down for public visits during filming months but, at all other times of the year, fans of Gentleman Jack are free to take a stroll around its beautiful gardens and see the very room where Anne and Ann slept.Ms Lister inherited the medieval manor on the outskirts of Halifax from her aunt and she lived there until her death in 1840.Vigil star Suranne has spoken previously about what it was like to film in the diarist’s home, saying: ‘When I’m walking in Anne Lister’s footsteps, I am literally walking into her house, eating in her dining room, doing business deals where she did business deals, surveying the same land, and walking where she walked.’However, not all scenes based at Shibden were shot in the original house.
