(All images via Amazon) When the casting of Aaron Sorkin's Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz film Being the Ricardos was announced, the idea of Nicole Kidman as Lucy earned a collective, “Wahhh!” Along with not especially resembling Ball, there was the problem of Kidman being at least 10 years older than Ball was during the period on which the movie focuses — the early '50s, when Ball was at the height of her television popularity and was secretly called before the House Un-American Activities and grilled about her alleged ties to Communism.
Teasers were no help, revealing an odd-looking Kidman sporting Jean Harlow brows and not sounding anything like the most iconic redhead in history.
