Ofcom confirms it will not pursue 7,482 Love Island complaints after bullying claims
Love Island. The hit ITV dating show came to an epic final on August 1, with villa couple Davide and Ekin-Su crowned champs. However, this year's explosive series sparked thousands of complaints from angry viewers during its eight weeks of drama.Fans of the show fumed at alleged bullying among contestants, misogynistic behaviour, emotional abuse, possessive behaviour and more. But the broadcast media regulator has decided it won't investigate the complaints further as it argued negative behaviour was not shown in a positive light on the show.An Ofcom spokesperson said: "We carefully assessed complaints about this series on a range of issues including alleged misogynistic and bullying behaviour.“We recognise that emotionally-charged or confrontational scenes can upset some viewers. But, in our view, negative behaviour in the villa was not shown in a positive light.
