Emma D’Arcy said they “feel so embarrassed” after a clip of them speaking about a Negroni sbagliato in an interview went viral.

The video first started circulating in early October after they discussed their favourite cocktail alongside House of the Dragon co-star Olivia Cooke.

The 30-year-old stated that they like a Negroni, adding “sbagliato” in the breathy voice they have become known for. They proceeded to raise their eyebrows, lean in closer and flirtatiously share that this means “with prosecco in it.” This moment has sent the internet into a frenzy, with the Truth Seekers star being the latest celebrity to go viral. “I keep thinking I should tell my mum that I’ve become a meme in the hope that she’ll be happy for me, but I’d have to explain what a meme is, and I’ve decided it’s too much effort,” D’Arcy told The New York Times, breaking their silence on the meme. “I feel so embarrassed,” they added. “Because in those interviews, when we’ve been at it for six hours, I’m honestly only trying to make Olivia [Cooke] laugh.” The actor plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, which is set about 200 years before the events of its sister show Game of Thrones.

D’Arcy recently revealed that they thought the series was a parody as opposed to a prequel when they first auditioned for it. New episodes of House of the Dragon are released weekly on Sky Atlantic and NOW. The post Emma D’Arcy breaks silence on viral Negroni sbagliato meme appeared first on GAY TIMES.
