Venton Jones Celia Israel was top vote-getter in Austin mayor’s race and is headed to a runoff DAVID TAFFET | Senior Staff Writertaffet@dallasvoice.com Venton Jones easily won election to the Texas House of Representatives in District 100, and in District 22, Christian Manuel-Hayes claimed victory, adding two gay men to the Texas House of Representatives’ LGBTQ Caucus.

Here in North Texas Julie Johnson fended off a serious challenge in her re-election bid in District 115. Jessica Gonzalez ran unopposed in District 104 and will return to the Legislature for a third term.
