Hundred of thousands of dollars have been donated to save The Stonewall Inn, which was designated a US National Monument in 2016 in recognition of the Stonewall uprising.In the wake of the owners warning that the pandemic had threatened it with closure the week before the 50th anniversary of the riots, people began donating and the fund stands at over $300,000.The business had said: “Our doors have been closed for over three months to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of patrons, staff and the community.“Even in the best of times it can be difficult to survive as a small business and we now face an uncertain future.

Brighton Dome has received £445,000 from Arts Council England‘s (ACE) Emergency Response Fund to support the registered arts charity through the Covid-19 crisis and help protect its short-term survival over the summer months.Following its closure in March 2020, 67% of its self-generated income was lost through ticket sales and events. The organisation has a £12.5 million annual turnover but its 1,800 capacity venue is currently unable to re-open for live concerts or performances due to social distancing regulations.Andrew Comben, Chief Executive of Brighton Dome, said: ‘We are enormously grateful to Arts Council England for this support which offers immediate financial security whilst our venue remains closed over the next few months.
