Coronation Street star Ciarán Griffiths, who plays bad boy Damon Hay in the soap, has revealed the brilliant three-word comeback he uses when people heckle him for playing a gay character in the past. The 40 year old actor joined Coronation Street back in 2022 and has already been involved in plenty of drama, including breaking up Sarah Barlow and Adam's marriage by getting Sarah pregnant and kidnapping Adam.
TV viewers may know Ciarán from elsewhere however as before joining Corrie, he had a successful career and appeared in shows such as City Road, The Bill, Holby City, Waterloo Road, and EastEnders.
He is perhaps best known for his role as gay gangster Mickey Maguire in the comedy-drama Shameless, where he played a key role in exploring his character's struggle with his sexuality.
As part of his experience playing Mickey, Ciarán has opened up about the negative attention he's received due to his character's sexuality.
