daughter Ruby came out as transgender.The doting mom opened up about the fact she still ‘slips up’ and calls her daughter by her dead name, but explained in a new joint interview in People that she is a ‘grateful student’.The interview came after the Halloween Kills star revealed this summer that her daughter, who was previously known as Thomas, had told her and her husband, Christopher Guest, that she is a trans woman.

The pair revealed that Ruby broke the news by text and the video editor, 25, recalled the loving response she received from her family.‘It was intimidating – but I wasn’t worried.
