A brand new trailer has been released for M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming psychological horror, Knock at the Cabin. Based on Paul Tremblay’s acclaimed novel The Cabin at the End of the World, the film stars Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge as a married gay couple who take their daughter (Kristen Cui) on vacation to a secluded cabin.
There, the family are taken hostage by four strangers – led by Leonard (Dave Bautista) – who demand they make the ultimate sacrifice to avert the apocalypse.
As per the official synopsis: “With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.” In the chilling new trailer, Bautista’s character reveals that “families throughout history have been chosen” to make the impossible decision to kill one of their own.
If they don’t, “hundreds of thousands of people” will die. A news broadcast seemingly shows a tsunami taking place in an unidentified country, while other mysterious and apocalyptic events occur such as lightning strikes and planes falling out of the sky. “If you fail to choose, our world will perish,” says Leonard.
