The Netflix gay comedy Uncoupled, starring Neil Patrick Harris, has been canceled after one season, Variety reports. The comedy, created by Sex and the City’s Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman, premiered back in July.Harris played real estate agent Michael Lawson whose life is turned upside down when his partner of almost 20 years decides to leave him.“Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) seems to have it all figured out.

He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins).

But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided,” the show's description read. “Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.”Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks, and Marcia Gay Harden starred along with Harris.“I’m so glad that I’m doing a show like this now because I was less concerned and conscientious than I probably would’ve been 10, even five years ago,” Harris told The Advocate’s sibling publication Out last year. “… I was glad that I wasn’t just the punch line of the joke when I was in bed with some 28-year-old hot guy.” Uncoupled failed to bring in viewers, according to Variety, even with strong reviews from both critics and audiences.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the show scored 73 percent and 75 percent, respectively. The outlet notes that Starr still has a deal with Netflix.
