Lara Croft: Inferno comic book writer Jackson Lanzing has said he ‘tried so hard’ to make the character’s gayness ‘canon’.Fans have often believed the iconic Tomb Raider heroine – portrayed on-screen by Angelina Jolie and later Alicia Vikander – to be gay or bisexual. However, Lara’s sexuality has only ever been hinted at in the stories, which originated with the video game series in 1996.On Twitter, Jackson replied to a follower who mused: ‘I was replaying the first of the new Tomb Raider trilogy (love that series) and you cannot convince me that Lara and Sam [Nishimura, Lara’s best friend] aren’t 10000% gay for each other.
