Matt Damon, 50, is defending himself after talking about how he stopped using the “f-slur for a homosexual” only months ago in a recent interview.
The actor clarified the remarks he made to the U.K’s Sunday Times, which was published over the weekend, in a statement that was obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
It all started when he was talking about how the offensive term was “commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application” in the interview, and then stirred up controversy for saying he used the term in a joke “months ago” before his daughter helped him realize it was a mistake. “During a recent interview, I recalled a discussion I had with my daughter where I attempted to contextualize for her the progress that has been made
