The amiable new rom-com “Almost Love” suggests some guidelines for fledgling feature filmmakers like writer/director Mike Doyle.
The first is: find the right title. Doyle and his team nailed this the second time around. “Almost Love” played the queer festival circuit last year under the awkward title “Sell By.” That title yoked the movie to the unpleasant premise that relationships, like ground beef, have expiration dates.
