Everything Everywhere All At Once is the film to beat at this year’s 95th Academy Awards. The Daniels’ queer sci-fi epic, which follows a Chinese immigrant (Michelle Yeoh) as she connects with parallel universe versions of herself to save the multiverse, received the most nominations with 11.
The power of the bagel! Nominations include Best Picture and Best Director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Schienert), as well as acting nods for Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, Jamie Lee Curtis and Yeoh.
All four actors are first-time nominees; the latter also makes history as the first Malaysian person to be nominated for an Oscar.
After winning a Golden Globe for her performance as a lesbian musical conductor in Tár, Cate Blanchett has received her eighth Oscar nomination and fifth for Best Actress.
