Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice took to social media to praise his former dance partner, Rose Ayling-Ellis, telling her to be 'proud' of her campaigning following a law change.
Giovanni reshared a heartfelt post to his Instagram story on Wednesday, celebrating the news that British Sign Language will be legally recognised as its own language.
The post, from Deaf Identity, reads: "The British Sign Language bill passed its final reading in UK House of Lords and is set to be legally recognised as its own language." The star praised Rose in her efforts to spearhead the bill, saying "Be proud of what you have done @rose.a.e" with a red love heart.
Rose Ayling-Ellis became Strictly Come Dancing's first deaf contestant last year - and made history after winning the show. She has spearheaded issues within the deaf community and represented them on a national front.
