HBO Max has released the first trailer for season two of The Sex Lives of College Girls. Premiering 17 November on the streamer, the highly-anticipated new season sees the return of the core foursome: Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Bela (Amrit Kaur), Leighton (Reneé Rapp) and Whitney (Alyah Channelle Scott).
As per the trailer, their second year at Essex College looks even wilder with Bela introducing a “sex-positive, female-forward” strip show for charity and Leighton exploring her sexuality with “30” new women.
Kimberley struggles to pay her tuition while Whitney embarks on a complicated new relationship. The trailer also teases the arrival of an abnormally hot new neighbour, played by Gossip Girl alum and model Mitchell Slaggert, who is guaranteed to fill the void left by Gavin Leatherwood.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Justin Noble – who co-created the series with Mindy Kaling – said the season will continue to focus on Leighton’s coming out journey: “The last thing we would want to ever do is show a world where someone doesn’t own up to their own truth and share that with other people. “So we’re excited for everyone else to see what we have coming Leighton’s way as she continues to grow into that confidence.” The first season of The Sex Lives of College Girls was commended by critics and hailed as one of the best new shows of 2021, receiving a nomination for Outstanding New TV Series at the 33rd GLAAD Media Awards.
