After launching in April 2020, it received over 200,000 genuine messages in its first year.The site’s birth coincided with the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Having a place where people could vent their feelings anonymously was apparently much needed.Visitors to the site can read the messages left by anonymous users, which are often intensely personal.
