A man seen standing directly behind the president at a retirement community in Florida on Friday repeatedly held up the ‘OK’ hand gesture – a symbol which has been adopted by white supremacist groups and has been designated as a “symbol of hate” by the ADL.
The man also appeared to be wearing a hat sporting the logo of the ‘Proud Boys’ a far-right group that supports President Trump’s reelection.
A supercut from the president’s 90-minute speech shows the man displaying the gesture nearly a dozen times. The man made the gesture prominently when President Trump said in his speech: “We have made America proud again.” Trump drew criticism last month when he was asked to disavow the Proud Boys during the first TV Presidential debate.
