Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham has opened up about the group’s LGBTQ+ fans in a new interview. Since their debut in the 90s, the British girl group has remained a beloved fixture in the queer community.
Comprised of Mel B (Scary Spice), Mel C (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Beckham (Posh Spice), the pop icons have broken countless records, released a cult classic film and spread an unforgettable message of “girl power.” In recent years, the Spice Girls have reunited on numerous occasions, including their 2019 Spice World tour.
Unfortunately, Beckham was not part of the landmark reunion at the time due to her commitments towards her fashion brand. However, despite missing out on the Spice World tour, the fashion mogul has continued to show love toward the group’s legacy and their dedicated LGBTQ+ fanbase.
In a recent interview with Condé Nast, Beckham opened up about the heartwarming messages she received from fans. “Quite often, young boys come up to me on the street and say, ‘You made it OK for me to come out and not hide anymore, and really celebrate and be who I was scared to be.
